October 2009 - NITRABAR reaches its formal close, but work towards replication of the technology set to continue
The NITRABAR Project reached its formal close on 30 September 2009. Since the start of the Project in December 2005, the project partnership has worked to demonstrate a viable and cost effective technology to reduce diffuse nitrate pollution. A monitoring report, authored by University of Strathclyde will be made available in due course.
The Project has produced an After LIFE Communications Plan, that sets out how partners will work towards replication of the technology throughout Europe. For a copy of this report, click here.

September 2009 - NITRABAR workshops in Northern Ireland and Belgium
Ecomesh held a successful stakeholder workshop at Greenmount College on 16th September. Click here for the programme.

July 2009 - NITRABAR Recommendations Report available

July 2009 - NITRABAR at the Royal Agricultural Show, England
Oxfod University organised two information seminars at the prestigious Royal Show, 7th and 8th July. Professor Kalin presented the latest results from the demonstration site. May 2009 - On-Line Learning Tool available
An interactive learning tool, showing how NITRABAR technology may fit into an agricultural landscape has been developed by The Environment Agency, with the assistance of other Partners. To view this, please click here.
May 2009 - DVD Presentation available on-line

May 2008 - NITRABAR tests underway
Project partner, the University of Strathclyde is conducting tests to show the hydrogeological performance of the NITRABAR demonstration system in Northern Ireland. More information to follow.
April 2008 - NITRABAR Presentation in London
On 23 April, Professor Bob Kalin of Project Partner the University of Strathclyde presented the NITRABAR Project at the CL:AIRE annual projects conference in London. This was a valuable opportunity to present the NITRABAR approach to the contaminated land technology community. For more details, go to the event website.
January 2008 - Stakeholder event invitation
To celbrate successful installation of the NITRABAR demonstration system, and to provide stakeholders with an update on the project, a presentation and reception was held at the Ecos Centre at 4 p.m. on 29th January 2008.

December 2007 - Project Newsletter Issue 2 available

November 2007 - Installation of the NITRABAR system

September 2007 - Irish National Ploughing Championships
At the invitation of the European Commission, the NITRABAR Project had a stand at this major agricultural event attended by over 150,000 peopole (see Irish National Ploughing Championships). A presentation was given and the stand gave an opportunity for useful conversations with farmers.
June 2007 - NITRABAR exhibitors at EC Green Week
The NITRABAR Project was successful in gaining a exhibition space at the presigious Green Week in Brussels organised by the European Commission. The event was a very useful networking opportunity, with new contacts made across the European Union.
February 2007 - Logo competition
In 2006, NITRABAR ran a pan-European competition for school-children to design the project logo. Click here to read more.
